MeMe Six

This list is short but I didn't mean to keep it simple for any other reason other than just stating it like it is in my head. See, the more babies I have, the less brain cells I retain. Guess that's why baby #4 is currently sucking all the cells I have left. Now comment.

That is not true, Becky. I just wanted to imagine the gasp you just let out as you read that sentence. Since you tagged me, I just had to do something to let you know how thankful I am for a friend like you. One that thinks of me and lets me know it.

Six Things I Value:
1. my salvation
2. my family
3. macaroni and cheese
4. our church family
5. creating things with my hands
6. music

Six Things I don't Support: (how "real" can I get here?) = SIN!

1. Lying (that would include my pregnancy lie above, right?)

2. bad customer service (I agree with you, Amy). Who else enjoys hearing the cashier complain about how long she's been on the clock and how many minutes are left til she goes home? Oh wait...don't forget about those that talk about their personal affairs in front of you as you wait for their help. Oh yeah.....what about when you see a fast food worker eating while working the counter OR handling money and then touching your food. Ugh.

3. arrogance

4. indecisiveness

5. my own weight gain

6. ridiculous spending

Perspective

This is a post to all those young babysitters out there who are not yet parents.

I enjoyed this post by Lots of Scotts, a blog I read daily. Wow, it really made me laugh!

Our first LOVE ornament

I made this ornament our first year of marriage. It was the first to hang on our little tree that Christmas of 1999. Sadly, it came crashing to the floor last week.

But there's nothing a little hot glue can't fix!

Lovin' the TROOPS

Verses on Total Depravity

I am thankful to Travis Carden who posted these scriptures on his blog regarding the total depravity of man. I needed the reminder.

Simple pinecone

It just so happens that the front lawn of our church is full of pinecones...so I think I will help the boys gather a pile on Sunday and then do this craft later in the week. It's a good thing I have plenty of pipe cleaners as well as four unopened jars of peanut butter just waiting to be eaten.

Now I must go add birdseed to my WalMart list.

I won gasoline!

I just played this trivia game online from Chevron and won a $5 gift card for gasoline! It's been verified and confirmed that my card is in the mail and on its way to my house. Wanna try to win one for yourself? Click here.

By the way, I hear that you can enter once a day and that the gift card values are from $5 to $2500.

Play away!

Holiday craft tutorials

Oh my....if only I had more hours in the day.

How delightful!

Jonah & the whale

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, “When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah. ”
The teacher asked, “What if Jonah went to hell?”
The little girl replied, “Then you ask him.”

Two easy crafts

Remember all those fabric scraps I asked for? This is how I will use most of them.

I also have way too many pom-poms so I'll be making this with my stash.

Homemade holiday banner

I saw it first here. I finally made myself one and I love it. Luke loves seeing it periodically throughout the day. He's tempted to yank on it......bless him. I know need to think about how I'm gonna store it safely til next Christmas.

Also, we have this beautiful wooden nativity scene. I just wish I could remember who gave it to us. The kids love hearing the Christmas story as they play with it.

Christmas tree blues

As a family, we decorated our Christmas tree Sunday night. It was fun to watch the kids laugh as they dug out ornaments they had made from previous years. Mitch and I made sure to hang the glass ornaments high on the tree and kept the plastic and lighter ones near the bottom. We knew Luke and Andrew would obey by not pulling on the tree....but, Abigail....well, that's a different story.

We had our tree up one day before Abigail brought it crashing down.

Here's our tree BEFORE Abigail got a hold of it:

Here's our tree AFTER Abigail pulled on the branches and barely got hit by the fake limbs:

We've bought two artificial tree stands and neither of them fit. We have one more store to explore before giving up and possibly buying a new tree. Heck, we've even thought up ways to make what we have work....sand, towels, rocks.....forget it.

Andrew mentioned to me today that he was sad the tree was broken and not lit up.
Me, too, Andrew....me, too.

UPDATE: THE TREE HAS BEEN FIXED!

Free RedBox codes

This just in from Denise at
The "Cent"sible Sawyer:

If you haven't tried Red Box yet - go get your keys and GO NOW!!

Really, the rentals are only $1 a day (if you pay for them- we'll get to that). That is WAY cheaper than any other rental place. There are always LOTS of choices too. There is always at least a handful of movies my husband and I want to see. They usually have some kid movies and some family movies too!

The best part is you can rent with a promo code and the movie is FREE (for one night). There is always a FREE CODE on Mondays and there are also other Free Codes! Check 'em out here.

I have some wonderful news
for you Redbox Code Lovers!

Just in time for Christmas, Redbox is teaming up with Walmart's Elevenmoms (hey that's me!) and is giving free movie rentals at Walmart Redbox locations. Every Sunday you'll be able to score another FREE movie rental using one of the exclusive Elevenmom's codes below!

Week 1 (Sunday 12/7) - 11moms4uS (good for this day only)

Not Sure How to Use the Redbox? Here's a Step By Step Guide!

1. Go to any place that has a Red Box (However, for these codes you'll need to go to one located in a Walmart). Not sure... search for a location HERE.

2. (It has a touch screen) touch the button on the left bottom corner that says "rent with a promo code"

3. Enter your code

4. Select your movie

5. Swipe your credit card - because they want to know who to charge it to if you skip the country and never return it! :)

6. Take your movie home and enjoy! Just be sure to return it before 9 p.m the next night to keep it FREE! Every day it is late it will just cost you a buck though! Want a second free movie? These codes are only good once on your card... but you can use a second card and use the code again. (They are good one time per card).

Free MP3 music

Click here DAILY to get a free holiday song a day from Amazon throughout December. The songs from days past are still available.

I know that my friend, Becky, will definitely want to download the song from Dec. 4. I thought of you, BK!

Chairs or copier

I would have chosen the copier but would have agreed to settle on the chairs to keep the bonus from going home.

Funky seniors

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Burt.
